Learning Without Tears™ Booster
Handwriting remains a critical skill in the classroom. For children to be successful readers, writers, and ultimately, communicators—they need a strong foundation. Come learn with us! This booster uses an award-winning research-based curriculum to teach children pencil grip, letter formation and literacy skills that go beyond handwriting and give children the confidence they need to succeed in the virtual classroom and beyond!
Pre-K: Early Learners Booster
This special booster offers in-person and virtual group experiences that focus on readiness for school including sustaining attention, following directions, turn-taking, and group activities. Children will gain experience following a kindergarten routine through purposeful play, group circle time experiences, and various hands-on experiences to support fine motor development.
Social Skills Booster
As an additional layer of in-person and virtual enrichment, small group offerings are available for families looking for hands-on opportunities for safe and meaningful social interaction with same-aged peers where the online learning model ends. Social distancing poses a unique challenge for meeting the social-emotional needs of children. SOTH Social Skills Groups use an evidence-based curriculum to encourage building healthy relationships, build communication skills, and have fun problem solving through various challenges and team-building obstacles.
SOTH PE Booster
PE is fun at SOTH! Get outside and get moving with your favorite therapists in the park! Geared towards ages 7-12, children will learn and practice exercises in fun, theme-based circuits using a small group format. Group members will receive instruction in specific movements/exercises involving timing and coordination such as jump rope, jumping jacks, grapevine, ball tricks, and other “stunts”. Special focus will be placed on achieving overall physical movement and setting weekly activity goals to combat the seated virtual blues!
Get your child organized and ready to learn with an individual Skills on the Hill coach! Through the development of an easy to follow and palatable online learning plan, our consultative services are personalized to fit your child’s unique needs. Therapists may help develop an organization and filing system, identify skill and learning priorities, assess areas of need and track daily and weekly progress towards school goals – to name a few. Children will leave coaching sessions feeling prepared and supported to approach the challenges of the week confidently!
