DC Summer Camp & VA Summer Camp

Our DC summer camp consists of a full day, with morning occupational therapy provided by Skills on the Hill and afternoon speech therapy provided by Capitol Kids Therapy. Our Arlington, VA summer camp is a half day of occupational therapy provided by Skills on the Hill. We also offer week-long therapeutic groups all summer long at both locations. DC Summer Camp: Camp Friendship – Occupational & Speech Therapy Program

What

Camp Friendship DC is a full-day therapeutic program for children ages 4 to 6 years old. Each day will consist of morning occupational therapy sessions provided by Skills on the Hill and afternoon speech therapy sessions provided by Capitol Kids Therapy.

When

Campers meet daily from 8:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, June 22 through July 31, 2020.

Curriculum

Mornings are led by occupational therapists and afternoons led by speech-language pathologists. Each week, children participate in theme-based activities while further developing their social, fine & gross motor skills, auditory processing, receptive and expressive language, oral motor, and sensory processing abilities. A daily blog is available online so that you may experience your child’s activities, giving you plenty of conversation starters for talking with your child about their day.

  • Finger Play
  • Handwriting Instruction
  • Snack Time & Lunch
  • Obstacle Course
  • Music & Movement
  • Craft Time
  • Yoga
  • Story Time
  • Group Activity
  • Games & Free Play
  • Excursions

Requirements

All potential campers are required to participate in a play date to ensure their needs and abilities are an appropriate match for the group.

Costs

The DC summer camp program fee is $5500 ($2950 payable to Skills on the Hill and $2550 payable to Capitol Kids Therapy). Registration and a $1000 deposit by check to each practice are due by April 2nd. The remaining balance is due by May 1st. Families will be provided with detailed invoices to use for insurance reimbursement; however, coverage is not guaranteed. Prior to contacting your provider, please consult with both Skills on the Hill and Capitol Kids Therapy for specific information and questions to ask your insurance plan.

Campers meet daily from 8:30am to 12:00pm, Monday through Friday, June 22 through July 31, 2020.

Sessions take place at our Arlington, VA office located at 2301 Columbia Pike, Suite 125, Arlington, VA, 22204.
